The Symposium “Color Power – Change of Scale” was initiated and founded by Ilona Keserü Ilona, painter, professor emerita, one of the founding members of the Faculty of Arts, and was first held in the 2006/2007 academic year as a course of the Doctoral School of the Faculty of Arts at the unused industrial spaces of the Zsolnay Factory. Over time, the event has developed into a major symposium.

After a break of several years, the Department of Painting of the Faculty of Arts organised the event again between 16 and 29 May 2022, on the occasion of the Faculty’s jubilee, for the tenth time.

The programme included the design and realisation of colourful works on a larger scale than a panel painting, using flat or three-dimensional painting techniques in the empty rooms of the Zsolnay Cultural Quarter.

The symposium was attended by twenty-four invited artists, many of them current faculty members and doctoral students of the Faculty of Arts.
