Tolera

MegnyitóOpening: October 21, 2014, 6:00 pm
The sculptures of Kovách are derived from the peculiar blend of human, animal and mythological creatures, they are funny, ironic and meditative at the same time. Mouse like animal balancing on a scale, flaunted man posing like a moviestar, fighter growing a dinosaur tale, atlantes carrying shopping bags, broken and remade china – just a few pieces from his latest series.

Like his earlier works, a kind of emblematic dichotomy characterizes these new works. Monumental and tiny, pur foam and bronze, dream and reality, cute and scary appears together, as if all of Kovách’s gestures, like the title of the exhibit, were clear references Hungary’s present state of mind.
