The screen is the all-encompassing medium and tool of our present. We can view the fact that we receive a vast amount of digitized, audiovisual information almost exclusively through this interface as a utopia come true.
We trace the history of the screen — from the laterna magica, through cinema and television, to computer monitors and flat-screen displays. The exhibition explores this theme through works — from the 1970s to the present — that utilize and interpret this medium and technology. Students and faculty from Metropolitan University are collaborating on the exhibition and its educational program.
