In September, the Independent Art Department and the CEU Democracy Institute launched a new project entitled Context Program. Artistic Reflection, Social Engagement at the CEU Nádor Street building and other locations.
Contemporary themes and challenges, current social issues, historical and cultural contexts. Intensively alternating themes and activities, ongoing artistic work. Crossing boundaries, participation, new genres.
The free programme, a collaboration between artists, art professionals, actors, historians and researchers, attracted 61 registrations from students and doctoral candidates from more than ten universities in Budapest, but also from rural areas, Cluj-Napoca, Prague and Utrecht.
The Context Program consists of 6 + 1 sessions per semester, the seventh being a presentation of collaborative artworks made during the semester.
