Ekrem Yalcindag was born in 1964 in Turkey and studied art in Izmir and Frankfurt am Main as a student of Hermann Nitsch. He currently lives and works in Berlin, Frankfurt and Istanbul.
Living and working in multiple places takes shape in his art: his paintings bring together the aesthetic language and art historical traditions of different cultures, featuring impressions of the bustling metropolis and the legacy of the Color Field movement, as well as the richness of Islamic ornamentation and the traditions of Middle Eastern carpet weaving.
The exhibition Feels Like Home. Again is Ekrem Yalcindag’s first solo show in Hungary, covering his artistic practice over the past decade. Ani Molnár Gallery will present works from the artist’s internationally renowned series such as Tondo, Infinity and Natures.
