“The surprise I experience is striking: moods and emotions emerge in me. Preceded by analytical examinations, linguistic and experimental explorations, the PICTURE itself appears before us. The picture that was taken with a camera manifests itself. Recalled are the traditions of painting and visuality, the concept of composition, the theories of perspectives and colours. The avant-garde of the 20th century, cubist painting, Switters’ collages, the paradox of the ready-made, the melancholy of metaphysical painting, moreover, the visual methods of constructivist and pop art are conjured up by these photographs. Our common, imaginary museum is present in a hidden way, it has been imprinted in our eyes – that’s no catachresis! – and memory. Yet, Attila Pácser is no way set to innovate, just wishes to add his own comments to the work of predecessors. He lets his approach to take over and allows his images to be imbued with traditions”.
