Obsession is an inner response to the outer world, a problem solving attempt. Every one of us examines this notion, which is understood in many ways, often used with both positive and negative overtones, from his or her own viewpoint.
As a common denominator, we interpret obsession as a repetitive and meditative process where, instead of automatism, a preconceived system applies. Within the system, in the process of creation, out of a chosen element a transparent structure is formed.
Loneliness, intimacy and isolation are inherent characteristics of obsessive action. An intention for providing a sort of compensation or solution resulted an exhibition last year with the participation of artists Kamilla Szíj and Henrietta Szira, staged at Magma Contemporary.
Continuing the line, this year the two were joined by three further artists, Emese Benczúr, Mariann Imre and Hajnalka Tarr to study and analyse together the notion of mania.
