Parallels is an installation composed of temporarily interconnected sonic and visual elements that generate the audiovisual structure of the piece. Through scattered, slow movements, the shapes interact with each other, creating various sonic events at different points in space.

The compositions balance between still images and moving images, gradually transforming the scene into temporary autonomous zones. The algorithmic processes depart from individual decision-making intentions in the choreography, allowing the system to function as a self-contained, distributed network without any external intervention.

The goal is to shift attention away from traditional rhythm structures and musical frameworks towards other sonic qualities such as tension, density, emergence, and cohesion within a slowly evolving sonic environment. The visual structure is built upon intersecting, semi-randomly organized straight lines that point towards predetermined directions.

The areas between the generated line segments are divided into smaller units through a tessellation procedure based on the distances between them. These decomposed forms contrast the regular arrangement of the line segments while visually illustrating the sonic events arising from the movements behind the geometric structures.

Parallels represents a current stage of an ongoing artistic research that explores the use of lines as systems of representation in various sociocultural contexts.
