Gábor Kerekes has been working on collages for the past two years. He
collects magazines, newspapers and tabloids in tons. He gathers everything,
that publicizes photographs in printed form. He cuts them up into its most
basic elements, with the help of a scissor.
He makes large piles of the
cutouts before he creates his gigantic collages. The cutouts find their
organised positions in fantasy-landscapes, mountains, islands,
mass-demonstration or parties. The artist simulates dream-like scenes and
scenarios in a dark room, while filtrating the masses of images that
surround him. Every picture finds its place.
