Pictures are usually on the wall. On rare occasions, however, we come across a picture on our wall in a bookshop. It interacts with a text. It becomes its cover. All the images in the exhibition were used for the cover of a book or album. Of course, all the books will be on display alongside the pictures.
The Róna Collection contains works by more than 200 artists from the late 19th century to the still undried canvases. Some artists’ entire oeuvres are represented, others are represented by a single outstanding work.
The collection does not concentrate on periods, trends, artists or stages of a life’s work. The collection focuses on works of art. Works that say something about the time in which they were created, their creator, the world. Works that have spoken to the art collector.
The Róna Collection – an excerpt – will be shown here for the first time in an exhibition space, but thanks to a collaboration with Fine Art Rent, many of its pieces can be found in offices and hotels in Hungary and abroad.
